Barry Solan is currently the 1ST Team Strength & Conditioning Coach at Arsenal Football Club. This role encompasses the delivery of strength & conditioning for the first team squad while working with the team’s medical staff in the long and short-term rehabilitation of players in return to training and playing pathways. Barry also liaises with academy S&C staff on the transition and athletic development of players from youth level to the 1st team squad.
Prior to this, Barry has worked in a range of different roles and sports including Gaelic Football, Rugby, Tennis, Golf, Ice Hockey and boxing both across Europe and at EXOS (formerly Athletes’ Performance) in the U.S. Barry has also lectured on the Sport Science & Health Program at ITT Dublin and internationally for EXOS on their mentorship program.
He holds an honours degree in Sports Science and PGCE in Physical Education from St Mary’s University College, Strawberry Hill, London. He is further certified through the NSCA, NASM, Titliest Performance Institute, and Functional Movement Systems. Barry is currently completing his masters in Strength & Conditioning from Edith Cowan University.
