Sarah Snyder, MS, RD, CSSD, CSCS, Team Performance Dietitian, started working with the Detroit Lions in March 2016. Prior to joining the lions, Snyder was the Director of Performance Nutrition for the University of Michigan athletic department where she provided nutrition services and programming for football, men’s and women’s basketball, and hockey during the 2015-2016 season. Snyder was the director of sports nutrition for the University of Florida between 2011 and 2015 where she oversaw the sports nutrition department while working with football, swimming and diving, basketball, golf, lacrosse, and women’s soccer. She was a guest lecturer while working at the University of Florida and the University of Michigan.
Snyder started her career as an intern at EXOS and joined their staff as sports dietitian specializing in nutrition consulting and programming for NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB athletes as well as the Memphis Grizzlies. She also worked in various EXOS satellite locations including Las Vegas and Chicago and set up the Frisco Texas facility nutrition program in 2009.
Sarah studied biology at Santa Clara University where she served as student athletic trainer for women’s soccer. She obtained credentials from the NSCA and USA weightlifting while working as a personal trainer in Los Altos, California. The following year she obtained her masters in
nutrition from FSU while serving as the Graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach for the women’s volleyball team.
Sarah has been a member of the American Dietetic Association since 2007, has been active in CPSDA since 2010, and has been involved with SCANN since 2004. NSCA since 2007.
